Vestia - helping you back into work
Sue Jones is a Wyre Forest Community Housing Group tenant and was facing a 25% reduction in her housing benefit which would have affected her ability to stay in her home of 30 years.
Sue was working part time but had also experienced a drop in her weekly hours which was contributing to her difficult situation.
Sue recognised that she needed to not only increase her hours which may require her to look for new employment but she felt that she required support to help her achieve her goal effectively.
Through the support offered by The Community Housing Group working with the Financial Inclusion Team and Vestia Training Sue was able to update her C.V., explore potential opportunities and apply for work.
Within 6 weeks Sue was successful in finding a new job at the George Hotel in Bewdley that offered her increased hours and would enable her to improve her situation and stay in her home.
Sue said: "I am really grateful for the help and advice I received from The Community Housing Group including financial advice from the Financial Inclusion Team and C.V., job search and application support from Vestia".
