Vestia Key Partners
Vestia is part of The Community Housing Group (the Group). As part of the Group, Vestia can call on group support services including Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology. This enables Vestia to focus on delivering services and making a difference in people's lives.
Vestia manages and delivers several areas of work for the Group including; employee training, learning & development; the Group's Apprenticeship Programme; and linking the Group's housing landlord services to Vestia’s a 'Home, Health & Employment' programmes– improving lives, empowering individuals, families and communities to create their own futures.
Fusion is a Housing led Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Consortium that has been formed by the principal Registered Housing Providers in Worcestershire. The ambition is that Housing Partners working together with specialist and local VCS can not only deliver Worcestershire wide programmes but provide better, more comprehensive and coherent social and economic inclusion services; producing better outcomes for Worcestershire residents and commissioners.
Worcestershire County Council (WCC) is facing real challenges with smaller budgets and increasing pressure on services from vulnerable communities. The County Council is however committed to tackling inequality and improving quality of life for all residents and works actively with partner organisations like Vestia and TCHG in the delivery of social and economic inclusion programmes.
Working with Wyre Forest District Council and the local Councillors is important for Vestia and The Community Housing Group as they provide a strategic overview of the area; and share local knowledge that ensures we avoid duplication on projects.
Working together we can have a positive impact on neighbourhoods, offering a platform to residents to express their views, as well as the Local Authority communicating their plans for the area.
Vestia is pleased to be working with the District Council and to have their practical and financial support to develop and deliver our employment services.
Working with Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) through local Job Centre Plus (JCP), Vestia offer opportunities for unemployed to be supported to gain employment. This includes people attending an employment course; work experience and access to Building Better Opportunities employment services.
Vestia offers a City & Guilds Employability qualification to help unemployed gain skills to increase their job opportunities. This programme is delivered in partnership with Heart of Worcestershire College, and is funded by the Skills Funding Agency.
The Education & Skills Funding Agency fund skills is an executive agency of the DfE that is accountable for funding education and training for children, young people and adults. They support over 1,000 colleges, private training organisations, and employers with more than £1 billion of funding each year. They are responsible for giving colleges, training organisations and employers the right funding to help young adults, the low skilled, and the unemployed to get the skills they need for employment.
From 2014 – 2020, £11m of European Social Funding (ESF) is available in Worcestershire to invest in 'Social and Economic Inclusion'. The programmes to invest this money had been shaped by the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (WLEP).
In response to this opportunity, the principal Social Housing Providers in Worcestershire, worked to form a Housing led Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Consortium – Fusion. Vestia led the work to establish Fusion and act as lead in the delivery of ESF/Lottery contracts.
This social enterprise, being developed in partnership with University of Worcester and Worcestershire County Council, will match older people living on their own and socially isolated with students looking for accommodation while they study.
Big Local is national programme funded by the Lottery; bringing together all the local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from individuals, groups and organisations who want to make their community an even better place to live. Vestia are proud to act as 'Locally Trusted Organisation' for Big Local DY10, and in this role support the community group in the delivery of projects and management of their finances.
