Jack guarantees great food, excellent service…and a good night sleep!!
Jack Davies had been a previous employee of Tesco when he was made redundant after 2 years of service. Following 3 months being unemployed, his work coach at Kidderminster Job Centre signposted him to an Employability course delivered by Vestia Training, to improve his chances of finding suitable employment. Jack took part in a 9 day ‘On Your Marks’ programme, which focuses on obtaining a Level 1 City & Guilds Employability qualification primarily, building confidence, improving interview techniques and CV writing.
Jack said: “I had heard about Vestia Training through friends who had also studied the programme, so when the job centre recommended it, I jumped at the chance in hope that it would give me access to opportunities and generally thought it would be beneficial for me. During the programme I was able to develop key skills and brush up on my interview techniques”.
The course tutor, Darren Robinson said: “Jack was a lively member of the group that always kept spirits high amongst other group members, he worked well throughout the course and knew exactly what he wanted to gain from the process. Jack made an application to Premier Inn whilst on the programme and I was confident that he stood a good chance of securing the position”.
Ross Scott, Jacks Manager said: “Since Jack has been with us he has proved to be a hard worker and as a result has been given extra duties around the hotel. We are really pleased that Jack is part of the team and will be looking to increase his hours to full-time in the near future.
Jack said: “I would definitely recommend the course to others as it helps you to find work. The Tutors on the course help you to build self-esteem and realise what you can achieve".
