Employment Services – Good News Story – Robert Prescott

Robert attended the Vestia Employability Programme in March 2018 after having been unemployed for 6 months. He had previously worked as a self-employed gardener for over 10 years and had an excellent employment history.

During the programme, Robert was able to update his CV to a really high standard and completed several strong applications for employment. One of these applications was for a Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative with Oakleaf Commercial Services based in Kidderminster.

During the course, Robert was also able to prepare for a potential interview with Oakleaf and completed a good level of research on the company. Shortly after the course he was invited an interview for the position. The interview went very well and Robert was offered the position with Oakleaf.

At the end of the employability programme, Robert was asked what he thought about the programme and he said: “It was a very thorough programme. I enjoyed the team building activities and working with other people in the group.”

Couse tutor, Oliver Rimell said: “Robert was an enthusiastic member of the group who was very motivated to find employment. His enthusiasm also helped to inspire other people on the programme and he was always very supportive to the group. I am really pleased that Robert has been successful in gaining employment with Oakleaf as I know how much he wanted the job and to prove what he can do. Well done Robert!”
